Horse Training Classic Saying From Way Back
Dear <$firstname$>,
I was gonna send you another tip today on more
bombproofing, but I was reminded today of a classic
saying from hundreds of years ago about horses.
Ever hear the saying, "A scared horse grows
bigger" ?
It was an old, old saying created by our ancestors
about a horse spooking. (Hey, I guess that "IS" relevant
to bombproofing!)
Anyway, it refers to a horse's body action when he
starts getting scared about approaching an object or
whatever.
His head raises up (appears to get bigger...sort of),
his body tenses up (appears to get bigger) and so on.
At times people don't know their horses are spookin'
and they get in trouble with it. Often, they don't know
what to look for.
This is a handy metaphor to help the novice under-
stand when a horse is spooking.
Just thought I'd pass it along so you could pass it along.
Sincerely,
Andy Curry
