Can your horse belch in outer space
Did you know if you were in space...
You could not belch!
Why?
Because there's no gravity in space
to seperate liquid from gas in your stomach.
You also can't cry in space because
the tear stays locked in the tear duct...no
gravity to pull it down.
Makes me wonder if you can vomit in
space or not.
Did you know horses can't vomit?
That's one of the reasons they get
colic.
Ever see a horse get colic?
It's good to know the signs.
One sign is they'll turn to their rib
area and bite at it.
Another is they'll kick up at their
stomach.
Another is they'll drop to the ground
and roll.
Also, if you see your horse acting out
of his norm, then that's another warning signal.
A couple years ago I came home in the
evening and fed my horses. My gelding named
Rocky was standing in a corner area.
When I called them he didn't come. He
just stood there.
I remember thinking, "Hmmm...that's
strange."
The next morning I fed them and didn't
see Rocky.
I stepped in the corral area to look
for him and discovered him lifeless, dead, and
stiff as a board.
He died from colic.
Naturally, I was upset. He was a nice
horse.
Looking back, I knew the night I saw him
standing in the corner and not eating that some-
thing was wrong.
For some reason, I didn't act on it - and
I knew I should have.
So, I'm writing this to you so you won't
have to go through it. I don't want you to suffer
your horse's death like I did...it ain't purty.
Learn to look for the warning signs.
See you manana.
Sincerely,
Andy Curry
